Volunteers in Palliative Care can offer friendship and practical help - an important role which improves the quality of life of the adults and children living with terminal illness and their families. The support of volunteers are important and a valued part of the TEAM.

WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?

Anybody who can:
  • Provide companionship to the patient and family
  • Listen to and give emotional support to the patient and family
  • Give respite to the caregiver
  • Provide help in shopping and other household chores
  • Provide transportation, including ambulance, to clinics, hospitals
  • Read books, newspapers, etc., to the patient
  • Give support to the members of the family to cope with the loss, grief and bereavement.
